The Kingdom Hearts series is a series of video games based on Disney and Pixar films, Disney theme park attractions, and Final Fantasy games.

Fictional character biography

Most games in the Kingdom Hearts series follow Sora, a boy from Destiny Islands. When his island is consumed by darkness, he is given a weapon called the Keyblade which can unlock people's hearts. These unlocked hearts go into a realm of hearts known as Kingdom Hearts. A person without a heart creates a dark creature known as a Heartless, and the person becomes a Nobody. Additionally, the negative emotions created by those consumed by darkness become dark creatures known as the Unversed.

A Keyblade also has a secondary power, to unlock and lock the gates between worlds. Because of this, Sora teams up with Donald Duck, a wizard, and Goofy, a knight, to travel across the worlds to fight the Heartless, Nobodies, and Unversed to keep them safe from corruption.

This is made harder by a Keyblade master named Xehanort, who seeks to control Kingdom Hearts, and by Organization 13, a group of Nobodies who seek to gain hearts and replica bodies in order to become human.
