The Ghostbusters are a team of characters who are part of an American multimedia series consisting of books, comics, films, magazines, music, and video games.

The franchise was created by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis and premiered on June 8, 1984 when Columbia Pictures released the original film.

The Ghostbusters were also in some entries in the Lego series.

Fictional character biography

A team of eclectic scientists develops technology to fight ghosts.

The ghosts are real, despite skeptics, and are terrorizing the citizens.

The scientists form a group known as Ghostbusters.

As the Ghostbusters, they fight the ghosts.

Non-scientists join the group as well, as the job is tough and they need all the help they can get.

Ghostbusters

The original Ghostbusters premiered in 1984. The team consisted of Egon Spangler, Ray Stantz, and Peter Venkman. The team expands to include Jeanine Melnitz and Winston Zedmore. Louis Tully also temporarily becomes a Ghostbuster to help when a building is covered in pink slime.

After Egon dies, his family becomes Ghostbusters, including his daughter Callie Spengler and his grandchildren Phoebe Spangler and Trever Spangler. Phoebe's science teacher, Gary Grooberson, also becomes a Ghostbuster. They are helped by the original three surviving Ghostbusters and Jeanine.
