Zork Implementation Language (ZIL) is a scripting language for interactive fiction that is stored in Z-code story files.

The Z-code is run in a Z-machine interpreter.

It was developed by Infocom for the home computer conversions of Zork to allow for easy porting of text adventure games to other platforms.
