Animal Crossing Plaza was a social media spin-off application of the Animal Crossing series.
Discontinuation
It was discontinued on December 22, 2014. Miiverse posts could still be made from Animal Crossing Plaza until the former was discontinued on November 7, 2017.
Fan server
Animal Crossing Plaza can still be used with Pretendo Network, a reverse-engineered open source Nintendo Network replacement that first began development as RiiU in 2017.
