It was produced by Nintendo concurrently with an arcade platform with similar hardware specifications, the PlayChoice-10.
Home versions of the games
Some of the VS. System games were released on Nintendo's video game consoles, both through traditional game ports and through emulation.
VS. Clu Clu Land
VS. Clu Clu Land was released on the Family Computer Disk System in Japan on April 28, 1992.
This version was included via emulation in Animal Crossing for GameCube on December 14, 2001 in Japan and on September 15, 2002 in North America. It was also released through emulation in a Japanese re-release of Animal Forest with the additions from the North American release of Animal Crossing on June 27, 2003 and in Europe in a version of Animal Crossing which also included these changes on September 24, 2004. China received VS. Clu Clu Land through emulation in Animal Forest for iQue Player on June 1, 2006.
VS. Clu Clu Land was also released on the Famicom emulation service for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers on Nintendo Switch in Japan on May 15, 2019.
