Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars, known in North America as Circle of Blood until 2002, was the first game in the Broken Sword series.

Story

An American named George Stobbart witnesses a murder at a cafe in France and becomes the prime suspect. With the help of a French reporter named Nicole Collard, George investigates the murder in order to get to the bottom of the story and clear George's name.

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - The Director's Cut

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - The Director's Cut was released in 2009 and 2010 for Android, iOS, macOS, Nintendo DS, Wii, and Windows with new close-up art and new interactive sequences.

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - Reforged

Another remastered version, Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - Reforged, was funded through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. It will be released in 2024 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
