Street Fighter II was a scaled down adaptation of the second Street Fighter game, Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, with some features from its various updates. It was the second entry in the Street Fighter series.
It was altered to fit the lower resolution, monochrome graphics, lower amount of RAM, and the slower CPU of the Game Boy in comparison to the Street Fighter II arcade games.
Development
The arcade game titled Street Fighter II: The World Warrior was released by Capcom in 1991.
The game was a smash hit, leading Capcom to release multiple ports and updated versions of the arcade game.
The Game Boy port was developed by Sun L. It was published in 1995 by Capcom in Japan and by Nintendo elsewhere.
