Sega Saturn was the fourth home video game console by Sega.

It was preceded by the Sega Genesis, including its Sega CD and 32X add-ons.

It was succeeded by the Dreamcast, which was the last home console by Sega, other than miniature retro consoles.

The Japanese marketing for the console often featured Segata Sanshiro, a character that would become popular enough to appear in his own video games.
