History
Famous Players Film Company was founded by Adolph Zukor on May 8, 1912.
In 1913, Lasky Feature Play Company was founded by Jesse L. Lasky.
Paramount Pictures Corporation was an independent film releasing company that was started in 1914 by W.W Hodkinson. Both Famous Players and Lasky released their films through Paramount Pictures.
Merger
On July 19, 1916, Famous Players Film Company and Paramount merged with the Jesse L. Lasky Feature Play Company.
The resulting company was named Famous Players-Lasky Corporation.
In 1924, it was renamed Paramount Famous Lasky Corporation
It was renamed Paramount Pictures Corporation in 1936.
