DOMO Team (DOMO小組, DOMO Xiǎozǔ) is a division of the Taiwanese company Softstar Entertainment.
History
The DOMO Team was created to develop Xuan-Yuan Sword, which was released in 1990.
The lead programmer, Tsai Ming-hung, chose the name DOMO Team as he sought to credit the entire development team. This name was chosen from the Japanese word for "friend", tomo (とも), to mean that all team members were friends, without distinction of rank.
During the development of The Legend of Sword and Fairy 2, much of the development team, including the project leader, left the Crazy Boys Production Group midway through production. Softstar Entertainment brought the creator of the Sword and Fairy series, Yao Zhuangxian, back to Taiwan from China to finish the project within a tight deadline.
Xuan-Yuan Sword Side Story: Dance of the Maple Leaves was the last game officially developed by the DOMO Team. While this name would remain unofficially for teams developing Xuan-Yuan Sword games, Softstar Entertainment reassigned its employees into departments near the end of development on Xuan-Yuan Sword: Mists Beyond the Mountains in 1999.
The Legend of Sword and Fairy 2 was completed by the remaining members of the Crazy Boys along with members from the DOMO Team, the latter of whom was developing Xuan-Yuan Sword IV at the time, and was released in 2003.
