An Italian plumber named Mario travels to Delfino Island with Princess Peach.

However, upon arriving, they discover that a doppelganger of Mario covered the island in paint.

Mario is punished by the islanders to act as a janitor, cleaning up the paint with water using a device called FLUDD.
