Mario Bros. Special is a platform game released only in Japan for the PC-6001, PC-8001, PC-8800, FM-7, Sharp X1, and Hitachi S1 computers.

It was developed and published by Hudson Soft based on Mario Bros. and was officially licensed by Nintendo.

Plot

Italian-American plumbers named Mario and Luigi enter the sewers and complete various objectives in order to clear pipes and remove various creatures from the sewer system.

Gameplay

Despite having the aesthetics of ‘’Mario Bros.’’, the game differs from its source material in that the brothers can use balls as weapons.
