The Game Boy Color was the third handheld video game console released by Nintendo. The system had backward compatibility with video games from its predecessor, the Game Boy.
It was succeeded by the Game Boy Advance.
Release
It was released in Japan on October 21, 1998, in North America on November 18, 1998, in Europe on November 23, 1998, and in Oceania on November 27, 1998.
The word Color in the title had each individual letter correspond to the five colors available upon release. The colors were berry, grape, kiwi, dandelion, and teal, respectively.
