Crunchyroll is a video-on-demand and shopping website owned by Sony.

It was launched on May 14, 2006 by Kun Gao, James Lin, Brandon Ooi, and Vu Nguyen.

Crunchyroll was released for iOS on December 21, 2009 and for Android on March 28, 2011.

It was released for PlayStation 3 on July 31, 2012, Xbox 360 on December 18, 2012, and PlayStation Vita on March 18, 2014, Wii U on December 25, 2014, and Wii on October 15, 2015 in North America. The PlayStation 3, Vita, Wii, Wii U, and Xbox 360 versions were discontinued on August 29, 2022.

Crunchyroll was released on PlayStation 4 on November 15, 2013, Xbox One on November 18, 2014, Xbox Series X/S on November 10, 2020, PlayStation 5 on November 19, 2020, Nintendo Switch on February 18, 2022, and Tizen for Samsung smart TVs on February 5, 2024.
