Xuan-Yuan Sword (軒轅劍, Xuān-Yuán Jiàn), also known as Xuan Yuan Sword (軒轅劍, Xuān Yuán Jiàn), is a Chinese multimedia series consisting of books, comics, music, television shows, and video games.
The first release in the series was the original Xuan-Yuan Sword role-playing video game, which was released in 1990.
Based on the Chinese legend of the sword of the same name forged by Emperor Huangdi, the first three games in the Xuan-Yuan Sword series were developed by the DOMO Team within Softstar Entertainment.
While this name would remain unofficially for teams developing Xuan-Yuan Sword games, the fourth game in the series, Xuan-Yuan Sword Side Story: Dance of the Maple Leaves was developed by Softstar Entertainment Research & Development Department 1.
