Magic John was developed by Aicom and published by Jaleco for Family Computer in Japan on September 28, 1990.
Jaleco localized it as Totally Rad and published it on Nintendo Entertainment System in Europe on December 21, 1990, and in the United States of America on March 29, 1991.
D4 Enterprise published Magic John on Project Egg for Windows in Japan on February 8, 2011.
Retro-Bit included Totally Rad on the Retro-Bit Generations in North America while JNNEX included Magic John in the Japanese release of the Generations video game console on November 10, 2016.
AtGames included Totally Rad in the Legends Flashback in North America on October 29, 2019, and on the Star Flashback Blast! on December 20, 2019.
Blaze Entertainment published Totally Rad in the Jaleco Collection 1 compilation for Evercade consoles on April 1, 2021 in North America and on April 23, 2021 in Europe.
