Super Mario Galaxy was first released for the Wii by Nintendo in 2007.
It was part of Nintendo's flagship series, the Super Mario series. As such, it was brought to some of Nintendo's subsequent systems through emulation.
Story
Bowser has stolen the Power Stars that power the Comet Observatory that Princess Rosalina, the watcher of the stars, uses to travel to other galaxies.
After Mario collects Power Stars and defeats Bowser and Bowser Jr., Bowser kidnaps Peach and tries to use the observatory to control the universe. Mario defeats him, rescues Peach, and saves the universe.

It was first released for the Wii in 2007.
It was re-released on the Wii U e-shop in 2015.
It was re-released through emulation in a bundle with Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine titled Super Mario 3D All-Stars for Nintendo Switch in 2020.
