Chemistry Entertainment

In 1997, Steve Gray founded Chemistry Entertainment.

Rainmaker Interactive

In 1999, the studio became part of the Rainmaker Entertainment Group and was rebranded as Rainmaker Interactive.

Acquisition by THQ and rename to Heavy Iron Studios

Steve Gray sold Rainmaker Interactive to THQ which renamed the developer to Heavy Iron Studios on August 31, 1999.

Becoming an independent company

Heavy Iron Studios was spun-off from THQ on June 1, 2009, making it an independent company.

Aquisition by Keywords Studios

On January 13, 2021, Keywords Studios purchased Heavy Iron Studios for $13.3 million USD.
