Foundation

Namcot was founded in 1984 as the console games division of Namco.

It developed and published games for the Family Computer, Game Boy, Game Gear, Mega Drive, MSX, PC Engine, and Super Famicom.

Merger into Namco

Namcot was merged into Namco in 1995.

Brand revival

Bandai Namco Entertainment, the company formed in 2005 after Bandai and Namco merged, revived the Namcot label in 2020 for the Namcot Collection.
