It was based on the 1995 James Bond film Golden Eye.
Versions
GoldenEye 007 was released for the Nintendo 64 in 1997.
It was remade and released as free downloadable content for Rare Replay owners and for Xbox Game Pass subscribers for Xbox One on January 27, 2023.
The original Nintendo 64 version was re-released via emulation, with online multiplayer support, on the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Switch Online service for Nintendo Switch on January 27, 2023.
