Brütal Legend is an action strategy game developed by the Double Fine Productions team, and was directed by Tim Schafer.
A roadie named Eddie Riggs finds himself in a heavy metal world and becomes the leader of a plot to save it.
Double Fine developed a new engine for this game named Buddha. This engine would later be used for all of the team's 3D games until the release of Headlander.
Two pieces of downloadable content was released for the console versions of Brütal Legend. The computer versions included the DLC with the main game.
Tears of the Hextadon
The first downloadable content for Brütal Legend was released on November 3, 2009. "Tears of the Hextadon" contained two new multiplayer maps and a new single-player weapon.
Hammer of Infinite Fate
The second downloadable content for Brütal Legend was released on December 17, 2009. "Hammer of Infinite Fate" contained four new multiplayer maps, six effigies for Mount Rockmore, three new outfits for Eddie, and four paint jobs and four upgrades for Eddie's car, The Deuce.
