The company was renamed Toys "R" Us, Inc. in June 1957.

Bankruptcy and Tru Kids

On September 18, 2017 Toys "R" Us, Inc. filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States and received permission to liquidate its stores on March 15, 2018.

The company emerged from bankruptcy on January 20, 2019, as Tru Kids, Inc.
