Project X Zone is a strategy role-playing video game that contains characters that cross over from various series owned by Capcom, Namco Bandai, and Sega.

It was developed by Monolith Soft and published by Namco Bandai Games for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on October 11, 2012, in North America on June 25, 2013, in Australia on July 4, 2013, and in Europe on July 5, 2013.

Project X Zone is the second part of a trilogy that gained its name due to the fact that it added Sega characters. The original Namco x Capcom only had Namco and Capcom characters. The direct sequel, Project X Zone 2, added Nintendo characters.

Playable characters

Project X Zone includes dozens of characters that cross over from popular video game franchises. It contains characters that fight in teams of two as well as solo fighters which can provide assistance to the teams.

It includes three cooperating studios with a total of sixty playable characters that are included in the game. Two of the characters, Mii Kōryūji and Kogorō Tenzai, were created for this game.
