Redkid is a system-on-a-chip by Digital Media Cartridge.

It contains a clone of a Motorola 68000 and a clone of a Yamaha YM7101, the components that make up a Sega Genesis, on a single chip.

Redkid chips were commonly used in early AtGames Sega Genesis-based consoles.

Versions

The original Redkid, abbreviated by AtGames as RK, had sound issues and graphical issues in some games.

The Redkid 2, abbreviated by AtGames as RK2, fixed some of the sound and graphical issues present in the previous version.

Video game consoles that use the Redkid owned by WEC Museum
