Lynx was a cartridge-based portable video game console by Atari Corporation.
Development
Epyx teased the handheld under the codename "Project X" at the 1989 Winter Consumer Electronics Show. It went by the codename of "Handy" at Atari Corporation while under development and as Lynx when it was released.
Legacy
The legacy of the Lynx remains, even after its heyday. Independent, unlicensed games continue to be produced for the system to this day.
The current license holder of the Lynx, Atari, S.A., released several Lynx games as downloadable content in compilations.
