Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX was a compilation of two video games in the Kingdom Hearts series, as well as cinematic, non-playable, videos of a third Kingdom Hearts title.

It was released for PlayStation 3 in 2013. It was then re-released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, bundled with Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, in 2017 and 2020 respectively.

Kingdom Hearts Final Mix

Kingdom Hearts|Kingdom Hearts Final Mix is a previously Japan-exclusive updated edition of the original Kingdom Hearts that includes the original story of Sora, Donald, and Goofy's efforts to rescue the princesses of heart and to keep the forces from evil from reaching Kingdom Hearts.

In addition, it included events and tweaks not found in the original game. It included new scenes, including scenes showcasing Riku's journey and foreshadowing Kingdom Hearts II. It also included a new boss battle against a member of Organization XIII, a group that would feature heavily in future installments, as well as a secret hidden ending.

Additionally, it included new music tracks, new abilities, new weapons, new items, additional and recolored enemies. It also included new gameplay mechanics such as the "Reaction Command" from Kingdom Hearts II and the ability to control the camera with the right thumb stick.

Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories

Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, a polygonal 3D remake of the Game Boy Advance title Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories was originally released for the PlayStation 2.

It is a card battling video game that takes place immediately after Kingdom Hearts. It features the original story of Sora's friends reviving Sora from his sleep in Castle Oblivion by restoring his memories of the places he went and the people he met in the original Kingdom Hearts.

In addition, it included voice acting in the Castle Oblivion, Destiny Islands, and Twilight Town scenes, new battles, and new cutscenes. It also included new gameplay mechanics such as the "Reaction Command" from Kingdom Hearts II.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is included as a cinematic, non-playable retelling of the events of the game. It includes 2 hours and 50 minutes worth of high definition versions of cutscenes from the game, which was originally released on the Nintendo DS, as well as new scenes.

The story takes place concurrent to the events of Chain of Memories and follows Roxas in his daily life within Organization XIII and showcases his friendships with fellow Organization XIII members Axel and Xion.

Development

The first public reveal, that a remastered collection of Kingdom Hearts games was in the works, occurred in August 2011. The collection was formally announced in September 2012.

Kingdom Hearts Final Mix had to be created from the ground up due to lost assets from the original game.
