H-B Enterprises

H-B Enterprises was founded by William Hanna, Joeseph Barbera, and George Sidney on July 7, 1957.

Hanna-Barbera Productions

H-B Enterprises was incorporated as Hanna-Barbera Productions, Inc. in 1959.

Acquisition by Taft Broadcasting

Taft Broadcasting acquired Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1966 for $12 million USD.

Acquisition by Turner Broadcasting System

Turner Broadcasting System acquired Hanna-Barbera Productions and Ruby-Spears for $320 million USD in 1991. The intellectual properties owned by the two studios were used to launch Cartoon Network in 1992.

H-B Production Co.

In 1992, Hanna-Barbera Productions was renamed H-B Production Co. The name was changed again in 1993, this time to Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, Inc.

Absorption by Warner Bros. Animation

In 1996, Turner Broadcasting System merged with Time Warner. Hanna-Barbera Productions was absorbed into Warner Bros. Animation in 2001.

Afterward, Hanna-Barbera was used by Warner Bros. Discovery, the successor of Time Warner, as a brand name.
