Disney Experiences is a division of The Walt Disney Company, the latter of which is commonly known simply as Disney.
BS The Legend of Zelda (BSゼルダの伝説) was based on the first game in The Legend of Zelda series, but with upgraded graphics, music and sound. It was released with two different maps.

Theme parks
It was released digitally in weekly episodes, over the Satellaview on the St.Giga Broadcast Satellite network. The first map was released in four episodes in August 1995. The second map was released in four episodes between December 1995 and January 1996.
The Walt Disney Outdoor Recreation Division was formed on June 3, 1980, to handle the theme park business of Disney.

The theme park division was renamed Walt Disney Attractions in 1989.
The maps are half the size of the maps in The Legend of Zelda.

It was further renamed Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Worldwide in 2008.
The player character was either the male or female Satellaview avatar, based on the information given during account creation. Both the male and female avatars wear a green tunic. The male character wears a backward baseball cap whereas the female character has long red hair without a hat.

Video games
Story
Disney formed its video game division, Walt Disney Computer Software, in 1984, and began developing games internally in 1988.  Walt Disney Computer Software was then reorganized into Disney Interactive on December 5, 1994.

The land of Hyrule has three golden Triforce pyramids, the Triforce of Power, the Triforce of Courage, and the Triforce of Wisdom, each of which contains mystical powers.

Buena Vista Games was spun out of Disney Interactive in 2003, to act as a game publisher. Buena Vista Games was consolidated back within Disney Interactive and was renamed Disney Interactive Studios in 2007.
One day an evil army led by Ganon, the prince of darkness, invaded Hyrule and stole the Triforce of Power. Princess Zelda, due to fear of what Ganon would do with the entire Triforce, split up the Triforce of Wisdom into eight fragments and hid them around Hyrule.

Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2012, and shut down internal game production at Lucasfilm's in-house game development studio, LucasArts, on April 3, 2013. Fewer than ten employees remained so LucasArts could continue to act as a licensor and publisher. Disney continued publishing and licensing video games under the LucasArts label until 2014, and continue to publish and license games under the Lucasfilm Games label.
Angered by her action, Ganon imprisoned Zelda and sent troops out to search for the pieces to complete the Triforce.

Meanwhile, Disney renamed their game division Disney Games and Interactive Experiences in 2014. Disney shut down its internal game development studios in May 2016.
Thankfully, a hero has set out to defeat Ganon and to save Princess Zelda. To do this, the hero has to find all of the pieces of the Triforce so that Ganon can be defeated and Hyrule can return to a state of peace and harmony once again.

Merger of the Disney video game and theme park divisions
Release
Disney has had an integration of their theme parks with video games since June 19, 1998, when they opened an interactive theme park and arcade named DisneyQuest. DisneyQuest closed on July 2, 2017, however, Disney continued its interest in interactive experiences in its theme parks. In 2018 Disney merged their video game and theme park divisions.
BS The Legend of Zelda was only released digitally, in two maps, over the course of four weeks each.

Post-merger the division was titled Walt Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, however, it was shortened to Disney Parks, Experiences and Products in 2019.
In addition to being only released digitally, the voice acting and music that accompanied the game were broadcast over satellite, so the game in its original form is no longer available.

Disney Experiences
Fans have made the digital files that have been saved by people who played the game in its original release playable in emulators. In addition, video recorded from the 1995 broadcast is available online.
The division was shortened to Disney Experiences in 2023.

Software developed by Walt Disney Computer Software
Fans have created projects which both make this game more like a traditional game in The Legend of Zelda series, as well as projects which aim to make the game as close to the original broadcast as possible.
