Bomber Man (爆弾男, Bakudan Otoko) was the first Bomberman video game. It was developed and published by Hudson Soft for MSX in Japan in July 1983. Also in 1983, Hudson Soft developed and published it in Japan for FM-7, MB-6890, Multi-8, MZ-700, MZ-2200, Pasopia, PC-6001 mkII, PC-8801, and Sharp X1.

It was changed by Hudson Soft to Eric and the Floaters for release in the United Kingdom to avoid association with the real-life terroristic bombs set by the Irish Republican Army during the Troubles. The United Kingdom version was published by Sinclair Research in April 1984 for ZX Spectrum. Also in 1984, Hudson Soft published it in the United Kingdom for MSX.
