Atari Jaguar was the last cartridge-based home video game console by Atari Corporation.
It was preceded by the Atari XEGS. After Atari Corporation closed, Atari, S.A., which was formerly known as Infogrames, released the Atari VCS.
Legacy
The legacy of the Atari Jaguar remains, even after its heyday. Independent, unlicensed games continue to be produced for the system to this day.
The current license holder, Atari, S.A., released several Atari Jaguar games as downloadable content for its Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration compilation.
