80286, also known as iAPX 286 and Intel 286, was a microprocessor architecture by Intel.

It was the second generation of x86 microprocessors.

History

The first 80286 microprocessor was introduced by Intel on February 1, 1982.

It was succeeded by the 80386 in 1985.
