The Spectrum is a video game console by Retro Games.

It is a full-size system with a replica of the original ZX Spectrum keyboard.

The Spectrum can be switched to load into full mode, or the carousel menu system.

Azpiri Limited Edition

The Spectrum: Azpiri Limited Edition includes games with art illustrated by Alfonso Azpiri. Sold exclusively at GAME in Spain, contains forty-eight built-in games and two games that can be downloaded from The Spectrum page on the Retro Games website as downloadable content. The regular edition contains forty-eight built-in games. The Fuse emulator by the Fuse team runs BASIC and the included games.

Collector's Edition

The Spectrum Collector's Edition, is sold for a limited time. It contains The Spectrum console, THEQUICKSHOT II joystick, THEPRINTER, THEMICRODRIVE USB, a spiral-bound manual, and an issue of CRASH magazine. It will be released on June 26, 2026.

Technical specifications

The system is more powerful than the system on which it is designed. The power is provided by a standard mini USB plug and wall adapter, and the video is output through HDMI.

It uses an Allwinner R16 "system on a chip". The system specifications are as follows:

  • 1.2 Ghz dual-core Cortex-A7 CPU (central processing unit)
  • 500 Mhz dual-core Mali-400 ARM GPU (graphics processing unit)
  • 512MB RAM (random access memory)
  • 512MB Flash storage

Since it uses a common architecture, the system can be modified to add additional games, simply using the supplied mini-USB cable and open-source software.
