Psychonauts 2 is a platform game developed by Double Fine Productions.
Plot
A ten-year-old psychic named Razputin is the newest intern in the psychic organization known as the Psychonauts. He always wanted to join the team but discovers that the Psychonauts are not all that he imagined.
The ruler of Gruklovia, Gzar Theodore Malik, manipulated a woman named Lucrecia Mux to use her psychic abilities to enact cruelties on his own people. This eventually unleashed darkness within her soul, releasing her inner demon known as Maligula.
Maligula destroyed the Valermo Dam, creating a disaster that killed hundreds of Gruklovians. The top-tier Psychonauts, known as the Psychic Six, defeated Maligula, and the Malik family fled the country.
The missing son of Gzar Theodore, Gristol Malik, studies necromancy until he discovers that Maligula is alive. She is trapped in a psychic construction created by the leader of the Psychonauts, Ford Cruller.
Twenty years after the Valermo Dam disaster, he discovers that a half-Gruklovia boy from a Gruklovian refugee family possesses great psychic ability and decides to use him to unknowingly free Maligula in the hopes she will help the Malik family return to power.
The walls around the construct begin to crumble, and Maligula is able to construct a disguise and give the boy, ten-year-old Razputin Aquato, a brochure about the Psychonauts psychic summer camp known as Whispering Rock.
Raz sneaks into the camp, stops a plot by a counselor named Coach Morry Oleander to take over the world, and is given a commission as a Psychonaut by the now-psychologically-fractured Ford Cruller.
Gristol Malik manipulates an insane psychic dentist named Caligosto Loboto to put his brain in the head of the grand head of the Psychonauts, Truman Zanotto.
The Psychonauts learn that Truman Zanotto has been kidnapped. Agents Nein and Bordello, Coach Oleander, and Raz board the Psychonauts jet to save him. Truman's daughter Lili, who is also Raz's new girlfriend, joins them as well. Unknown to them, Loboto sneaks onto the jet as well.
They travel to the Rhombus of Ruin, discover that Loboto snuck onboard, and also learn that the insane dentist was involved in the kidnapping of Truman Zanotto. They rescue Zanotto, not knowing that he is actually Gristol Malik, and travel to the headquarters of the Psychonauts.
The Psychonauts learn that there is a mole in the organization and also discover that someone has studied how to resurrect Maligula. Going into crisis mode, Sasha interrogates Loboto hoping to discover who he was working for and Milla uses her psychic powers to try to locate the person trying to bring back Maligula.
Raz enters the headquarters only to learn that Ford Cruller didn't actually have the authority to make him a Psychonaut. Raz is, however, made an intern due to the recommendation of Agents Nein and Bordello.
Upon arriving at the intern area, the other interns mock Raz and trick him into a storage room wearing only his underwear. After escaping, he arrives late to his training.
The Second Head of the Psychonauts and leader of the intern program, Hollis Forsythe, berates Raz for being late and has him enter her head to catch up with the other interns. She is teaching them her psychic specialty, mental connection, but her conscious self leaves to help the Psychonauts discover the identity of the mole.
The Psychonauts are going on a mission to a casino, but she won't let the interns come with them. Thus, the other interns convince Raz to improperly use the mental connection ability to change her mind.
To get her to allow the interns to come on the casino mission, he changes her thinking process to not be so cautious about money.
This allows the interns to come along, but it turns Hollis into a completely different person. She doesn't pay attention to the agents in the field and instead sneaks into the casino to win enough money to pay for the bills accrued by the Psychonauts over the years.
