The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), commonly known as the Soviet Union was a former isolated country in Eastern Europe.

It was founded in 1922 following the fall of the Russian Empire after the Russian Civil War.

Republics

Fifteen republics made up the Soviet Union. Those included Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, they became sovereign nations.
