Edward Canby and Orange O. Ozias of Dayton, Ohio purchased Julius E. Pitrap's patents and formed The Computing Scale Company.
Novels released in 1890
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle released the Sherlock Holmes novel The Sign of the Four. Also, The Nursery "Alice", an abridged version of the first Alice in Wonderland novel that was meant for children up to five years old was released by Lewis Carroll.
