Companies and organizations formed in 1880

In 1880, Alexander Graham Bell, Chichester Bell, and Charles Sumner Tainter founded Volta Laboratory after Alexander was awarded the Volta Prize of 50,000 francs by the French Government.

Alternate names for the laboratory include Bell Laboratory, Alexander Graham Bell Laboratory, Bell Carriage House and The Bell Laboratory.

Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One by Frogwares and part of Call of Juarez: Gunslinger by Techland were set in 1880.
