The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are characters that are part of an American multimedia series consisting of books, comics, films, magazines, music, television series, and video games.
The characters premiered in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird in 1984.
Character biographies
The series follows four turtles that gained humanoid forms from a mutagen named Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michaelangelo.
They were trained in the Japanese ninja arts by a mutant rat named Splinter.
Their primary enemy is a masked supervillain named Oroku Saki who goes by the name Shredder.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987)
The 1987 version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was produced by Fred Wolf Films. This version premiered in an eponymous television series that first aired on December 14, 1987.
