Muḥammad bin Salmān Āl Su‘ūd (محمد بن سلمان آل سعود, born August 31, 1995), a high ranking member of the ruling family of Saudi Arabia known as the the House of Saud, ḥas been the Crown Prince of the country since 2017.

On February 2, 2021, The nonpartisan press watchdog non-profit Reporters Without Borders filed a criminal case in a German court against bin Salman for crimes against humanity in the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey on October 2, 2018.
