American McGee's Alice was the first game in American McGee's Alice series. It was 2000 video game by Rogue Entertainment on the Lewis Carroll novels Alice's Adventures in Wonderland from 1865 and Through the Looking-Glass from 1871.
It was an action-adventure video game. After a fire kills her family and leaves her catatonic, seven-year-old Alice Liddell is put into Rutledge Asylum. Eleven years later, in 1874, Alice is slowly showing signs of recovery until her toy rabbit seems to call for help. She then retreats into her mind where Wonderland is broken and disfigured due to her mental state.
