Vocaloid₂, first released on June 29, 2007, is the second version of the Vocaloid singing synthesizer software created by Yamaha.
Several English and Japanese voicebanks were released for Vocaloid₂. A Chinese version of the software, which could only be used with the English SONiKA voicebank by Zero-G, was released in Taiwa
The popularity of the Hatsune Miku voice bank and associated character, created by Crypton Future Media for Vocaloid₂, brought public awareness to the Vocaloid software.
Vocaloid₂ was replaced with Vocaloid 3 on June 29, 2007.
