Versions

Ripple Island was originally released for Family Computer in Japan on January 23, 1988.

It was later included in Memorial☆Series Sunsoft Vol. 4 for PlayStation in Japan on February 14, 2002.

An enhanced port for feature phones developed in DoJa was released in Japan in 2003.

The Family Computer version of Ripple Island was released on Virtual Console for Nintendo 3DS in Japan on April 10, 2013.

It was released worldwide for the first time on Windows in Sunsoft is Back! Retro Game Selection on April 17, 2024. The compilation, which also included Firework Thrower Kantaro's 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō and The Wing of Madoola, had an option in the front-end for English text but the games remained in Japanese. The compilation was also released on Nintendo Switch in Japan on April 18, 2024.

Fan translation

On August 22, 2018, a group titled LIPEMCO! Translations released an English fan translation for Ripple Island.
