Currys
Currys was formed by Henry Curry in Leicester, England in 1884.
Dixons
Dixons was founded by Charles Kalms in Southend-in-Sea in Essex, England in 1937.
Prinztronic
From 1972 to 1983, Dixons stores sold Prinztronic branded versions of calculators and video game consoles licensed from manufacturers such as Radofin.
Dixons purchases Currys
Dixons purchased Currys in 1984.
Renaming of Dixons stores to Currys
Dixons stores were rebranded as Currys in the United Kingdom beginning on April 5, 2006, in Ireland in August 2008, and on its online store in 2012.
