Pop Team Epic (ポプテピピック) is a surreal comedy Japanese anime that follows two fourteen-year-old girls named Popuko and Pipimi. based on the four-panel webcomic of the same name. The latter was originally created by Bkub Okawa on August 29, 2014.
The anime was produced by King Records with co-production handled by Space Neko Company on season two.
The anime ran for two seasons and two specials. Season one aired from January 7, 2018, to March 25, 2018. Two special episodes aired on April 1, 2019, followed by season two from October 2, 2022, to December 18, 2022.
The anime contains multiple segments created by different people and animated in different styles. Each episode airs with a Part A, with segments featuring the main characters voiced by female voice actors, followed by a Part B with the same, or slightly different, segments voiced by male voice actors.
Season One was released on Region 0 Blu-ray, worldwide, on October 2, 2018.
