Based on the superhero identity of Ray Randall in the Hanna-Barbera Birdman series that was paired with The Galaxy Trio when it aired from September 9, 1967 to January 20, 1968, the character gained the name Harvey when he guest hosted two episodes of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast in 1997 and 1999.
A Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law pilot aired on December 30, 2000 on Cartoon Network.
After the pilot, the series aired on Adult Swim from September 2, 2001 to July 22, 2007.
