Foundation
Tengen was established as the home video game development and publishing subsidiary of Atari Games on December 21, 1987. It was named Tengen, as Atari Corporation retained the rights to the Atari name for home releases.
Consolidation into Time Warner Interactive
After Time Warner regained a controlling interest in Atari Games, Tengen was consolidated into Time Warner Interactive on June 28, 1994.
