GOG.com is a DRM-free distribution platform for video games and films.

They also occasionally publish older games on their website as well.

Good Old Games

CD Project opened a new subsidiary, Good Old Games, to distribute classic DRM-free old games.

An early access beta for the Good Old Games website was launched on September 15, 2008.

The website opened to the public on November 8, 2008.

Marketing stunt

Good Old Games performed a marketing stunt from September 19 to September 22, 2010 wherein they claimed to have shut down.

They relaunched on September 23, 2010, and revealed that they offered several games by Black Isle Studios that were unavailable to purchase for several years do to legal issue relating to the ownership of games based on Dungeons and Dragons. Several companies held some degree of ownership on these games, including Atari, S.A. and Hasbro.

GOG.com

On March 27, 2012, Good Old Games was rebranded GOG.com, due to the fact that they expanded their scope to include newer titles by indie developers and large publishers.
