An Atari 2600 remake of Climber 5, known as both Climber 5 and as Atari Climber on Atari Flashback video game consoles, was created by Dennis Debro of Xype.

Climber 5 was first released for Atari 8-bit computers in the August 1987 issue of Compute! magazine.
The Atari 2600 remake was published by Activision for macOS and Windows in North America on Activision Anthology: Remixed Edition on October 6, 2003 and on Game Boy Advance in North America on December 8, 2003.
It was published by Atari, S.A. when it was included in the Legacy Engineering-designed Atari Flashback 2 in 2005.
