Compile closed in 2003, and a new company named Compile Heart was formed as a subsidiary of Idea Factory on June 2, 2006.
Compile's founder Masamitsu Niitani, managed Compile Heart until he left the company in December 2012.
Niitani founded a new company, COMPILE◯ (Compile Maru), on April 19, 2016.
