TV Game Unit was the name given to a series of prototypes created by Ralph Baer and his colleagues at Sanders Associates that were created from 1967 to 1968.
TV Game Unit #7, created in 1968, is more commonly known as the Brown Box. This was the prototype that was sold to Magnavox, which released a more refined version of it as the Magnavox Odyssey in 1972.
