The TRS-80 Model 12 was a computer designed by Tandy and sold at Radio Shack stores.
It used the Zilog Z80 CPU, clocked at 4 MHz.
It was released with the TRS-80 brand name and is backward compatible with the TRS-80 Model II. It is not compatible with the TRS-80 Model I.
As it is internally similar to the TRS-80 Model 16B, without the 6 MHz Motorola 68000, the Model 12 can be upgraded to a Model 16B.
Release
The TRS-80 Model 12 was released in the United States and Canada in 1982.
Legacy
Tandy later released other TRS-80 Model II and TRS-80 Model 12-compatible computers, including the TRS-80 Model 16 in 1982 and the TRS-80 Model 16B in 1983.
